Our sister venue Metronome receives Bronze Standard recognition for its commitment to making live music accessible

We’re delighted for our sister venue, Metronome after being awarded with a Bronze Standard accreditation by disability-led charity, Attitude is Everything, as part of their Live Events Access Charter.

Metronome has been designed with disabled access in mind, offering equal opportunity to all visitors. This recognition of their commitment to making live music accessible for disabled audiences, artists, volunteers and professionals by Attitude is Everything is a tribute to their team’s hard work and dedication.

The journey they have taken to achieve this prestigious accreditation has been both inspiring and educational – empowering them to make meaningful improvements, putting their customers, students and artists at the heart of everything they do.

One Metronome gig-goer said:

“What a brilliant venue! Modern, clean, comfortable and welcoming, with amazing sound quality. It was a real pleasure to visit Metronome for a gig. I am a disabled person and contacted the venue in advance to ask if it might be possible to have somewhere to sit for the duration of the show. The staff at Metronome could not have been more helpful or kind or understanding. They anticipated my needs and made me feel so relaxed and safe. I would not have been able to attend the gig had it not been for their help so I am extremely grateful to them, as I was able to enjoy a thoroughly great evening.”

The process saw representatives from Attitude is Everything visit Metronome on multiple occasions to support and advise teams on making improvements, culminating in a comprehensive access guide designed to inform and support our visitors.

Alex Covell, Live Events Access Manager at Attitude is Everything, said:

“Congratulations to Metronome for their Bronze Award on our Venue Live Events Access Charter 2023-2025. As a venue, they have put inclusive practice at the heart of their work and improved their website, box office as well as staff training and policies to welcome Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists, audiences, and their workforce. We’re looking forward to seeing how they continue to strive for exemplary practice as they reach for Silver and Gold awards in future years.”

Metronome now has its sights set firmly on working towards achieving Silver accreditation, with the end goal being Gold Standard, and will continue to work in partnership with students, audiences, artists and the music industry, and with the guidance of Attitude is Everything to improve and maximise the visitor experience.
