We caught up with some of our tenants, virtual tenants and members to see what they love about Antenna and how they find working in our space.
Mark runs BottleTop, a video and animation company.
What does your company do?
At Bottletop we create animation, video and motion graphics for TV, film, visitor attractions, events, museums, social media and online. We work on everything from explainer animations for clients local and global, to large scale themed work for attractions at Alton Towers and Legoland. We’re always working on something different which keeps things interesting.
Why did you pick Antenna as your base?
We’ve been based in Antenna since it opened back in 2009. We were previously based a little further out of town so we chose Antenna primarily because of it’s central location and great facilities.
What do you like about working from Antenna?
Antenna’s central Nottingham location means we can easily nip into town for our dinner and is also really handy for clients & visitors, plenty of parking close by and just a fifteen minute walk from the train station.
The ultraband internet connection is great for us, as working in animation & video means we’re constantly uploading or downloading a lot of files which are often very large.
The restaurant and bar are really handy, whether we’re nipping in for a coffee in the morning, ordering a sandwich up to our office or having informal meetings with clients. It’s also handy for a quick beer after work!
When we need to have more of a formal meeting or presentation, we often hire one of the meeting rooms. Over the years we’ve also used these for filming interviews, bits of greenscreen and also as impromptu film sets.
We also run a regular animation event called Animorsels where we have a guest speaker, screen animations and have a few drinks afterwards. So far we’ve hosted all of these at Antenna making use of the great facilities and friendly staff.
Are you excited to return once the space reopens fully in September?
Yes, I think we’re all looking forward to Antenna reopening and having full use of all of the facilities again, the novelty of working from home has well and truly worn off. Plus, we’ve missed the breakfast sandwich from the bar!
