Nottingham Poetry Festival returns in spring 2022 from Friday 6 – Sunday 15 May with a whole host of events around the city.

Nottingham Poetry Festival was launched back in 2015 by Confetti Media Group (CMG) Chief Executive, Craig Chettle MBE and Nottingham-born poet, TV and film producer Henry Normal.

With Antenna being part of CMG, we’re proud to continue our support of the festival by hosting two exciting events here at Antenna.

The first event we’ll be hosting is the Midlands Mix-Up with Sophie Sparham & Casey Bailey on Sunday 8 May from 7.00pm – 9.30pm.

Sophie is a poet and writer who has written commissions for BBC Radio 4, The V&A and The People’s History Museum. Casey is a writer, performer and educator, born and raised in Nechells, Birmingham, UK. He was Birmingham Poet Laureate from 2020 to 2022.

Just a day later, on Monday 9 May, we welcome the Midlands Mix-Up with Leanne Moden & Jamie Thrasivoulou.

Leanne is a poet, performer and educator, based in Nottingham. She’s performed at events across the UK and Europe, including recent sets at WOMAD Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sofar Sounds, and Bestival on the Isle of Wight, as well as shows in Estonia and Spain. Jamie is an award-winning writer, poet, lyricist, and educator from Derby. He was the vocalist in the band In-Flight Program (2003-2013). His work has been published in: The Morning Star, Low Light Magazine, The Arsonist, Glove and Here Comes Everyone.

What’s on at Metronome

Our sister venue, Metronome will also be taking part in the festival and playing host to two events. For the child in all of us, experience an hour in the company of Michael Rosen as he shares some of his well-loved poetry on Thursday 12 May.

With LYR (Land Yacht Regatta), enjoy their search for beautiful noises and fusing language and music – a twenty-first century soundscape that echoes the exquisite ache of day-to-day life on Sunday 15 May.
