Antenna joined forces with Confetti to mark Black History Month

In October, we hosted an evening dedicated to Music of Black Origin (MOBO) where staff and Confetti students showed their appreciation for the contributions Black people have made to our UK culture over many generations.

A relaxed in-person event, the evening featured a mixture of live and recorded music, including showstopping performances from local R&B gem, COURTNEY, and special guest alumni headliner, Tracy Luvv. Influenced by her Christian faith, Tracy’s music incorporates soul, Afro-beats and R&B.

In between the performances, our Confetti comperes were joined by special guest speakers, Jackie P and DJ Messenger, from Nottingham’s no.1 Urban Radio Station, Kemet FM. The evening included some thought-provoking discussion from these two bubbly and charismatic speakers, who shared their experiences and knowledge of MOBO in Nottingham and beyond.

The event was free to attend and open to the public, and it was a fantastic turn-out, with drinks on offer and a DJ keeping everyone entertained between acts.
